Our Senior dancers joined Dawnie and a group of teachers and parents on the train and headed to NYC the weekend before Thanksgiving. We spent some time in Central Park, watched the Rockettes perform at Radio City Music Hall, took a dance class at Broadway Dance Center and had lots of fun seeing the sights and hol-iday decorations in the Big Apple. We visited Rockefeller Center, ate dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, took in the breathtaking view from the Empire State Building, and win-dow shopped on 5th Avenue on our way to taking a self-guided tour of The Plaza Hotel. Our trip was filled with lots of walking, laughter and fun.

We got all glammed up for King William High School's Hollywood-themed Homecoming Parade this year. So much fun waving to our adoring fans, looking fabulous, and tossing out loads of candy! We hope we brought a little joy and a lot of pink to the event and we love supporting our community!

All great reasons to join us for our special costume sale! All the proceeds will benefit Rylee Smiles, a charity dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of patients at Children’s Hospital of Richmond. DSD dancer Rylee Hogge started this non-profit after her own hospital stay. She uses donations to provide patients with fun, comforting items to brighten their stay in the hospital. All costumes will be donated by Dawn and the sale will be volunteer run, making more smiles! New costumes $10, used $5, accessories specially priced.

We will host 3 open houses this year -- August 2, 6 & 9 -- so you don't have to worry about missing a thing if you're still off vacationing. Get ready for a magical journey...we are in the process of applying for our top three Senior classes to perform at Walt Disney World again this year! It's an opportunity you don't want to miss...not only do we perform, but we attend classes and have loads of fun at three Disney parks! It's a magical trip, and we can't wait for you to join us! We are hoping to go the second week in June 2024, so mark your calendars.

Cheering on this dedicated group of dancers! Next week they head to Myrtle Beach to participate in the ID Dance Competition Nationals. They won their bid while performing at the ID competition and the judges hit the buzzer to indicate they'd seen a Nationals-worthy performance. Safe travels and break a leg ladies! We are so proud of all of you!

Another thrilling recital weekend in the books!!! Thanks to all the dedicated students, teachers, parents, and loved ones who made it all possible. We love you all and look forward to next year! Congrats and great shows everyone!!!

"Rolling" out another great show, The Student Dance Company's "Legendary" show this weekend was a beautiful (and fun!) thing to behold. The choreography was bursting with the talents, personality, emotions and creativity of this student-led group. The students put the show and choreographed all of the pieces themselves after organizing and running rehearsals since January. If you're 4th grade and up, look into this fun and valuable learning experience this Fall...they hold auditions in September! Great show everyone; congrats!

A group of DSD instructors (joined by the lovely Ms. Judy, without whom we could not function on payment days!) was released in New York City this Spring. There was an obnoxious amount of laughter and lots of new adventures (we actually went to two museums and rode a carousel in DUMBO!). It was a blast and a great way to bond. Hoping more teacher trips are on the horizon... 

The DSD Student Dance Company had their annual sleepover this weekend. The Company has been around for over 30 years, and this tradition is a great way for the participants in this student-led organization to bond even more as well as get in some extra practice. Between the late-night rehearsals, games and other shenanigans, there wasn't much sleeping but there was a lot of fun had by all.
