This year's Recitals, "Counting My Blessings," truly were a blessing to all who saw them. Our students' dedication, perseverance, and hard work paid off with an amazing show that was touching, funny, meaningful and uplifting! Thank you so much to all -- students, parents, teachers, friends and family -- who helped this show be one of our best ever!!!

Our Competitive Dance Team just wrapped up a fabulous season -- it was fire! They competed in three competitions, and not only had the opportunity to compete with studios from all over the East coast, but they also earned multiple judges awards, high score recognitions, invitations to National Competitions and places in the top 10. Two of our dancers, Rylee Hogge and Charlotte Madren, received regional titles. This is a wonderful platform to showcase how much talent we have right here within our studio. These dancers work extremely hard over the course of our season and are very dedicated. Our season was also a great success thanks to the generosity of our 2024 DSD Competition Team Sponsors. We could not have done it without the support of these individuals and outstanding local business, so be sure you support them!

We danced our hearts out for you! Our Company and Team members took some time to bond on a weekend trip to the Outer Banks, NC. Games, shopping, food prep, movies and more got us talking, laughing and ready to start the busy Spring Semester on the right foot. Some unseasonably nice weather made for some time on the beach (and photo ops, of course!) and we even had three brave souls take a polar plunge!
Company Members kicked off their season with a holly jolly holiday party that included food, games, and dancing fun. Can't wait to see what these creative students achieve this year when they produce their very own show!
...is to share the good news with you! O’ Night Divine celebrated its 18th anniversary in 2023, performing "Come Home For Christmas.” This production featured pieces from all genres, and included characters of all ages, from dancing reindeer to a full nativity scene featuring lambs and angels. The show also featured the vocal talents of our community. Each year it is a true blessing to see our wonderful dancers take the stage to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also an opportunity for DSD to give back. This year all proceeds were donated to King William Christmas Dreams and King William Emergency Ministries. If you are interested in participating next year, all ages and levels are welcome and rehearsals begin in October (these are held Friday/Saturday and are separate from regular classes). No audition is necessary; simply register in the fall, or at Open House.
Our Senior Pom class rocked the Randolph-Macon College gym by performing choreography by Ms. Samantha! They were joined by with current RMC dance team members and put on a fun halftime show, getting the spectators ready to cheer on the Yellow Jackets. Ms. Samantha is a graduate of RMC and former captain of the RMC dance team, and they invited her once again to bring her students to perform at her alma mater. Great job dancers!
Our Senior dancers joined Dawnie and a group of teachers and parents on the train and headed to NYC the weekend before Thanksgiving. We spent some time in Central Park, watched the Rockettes perform at Radio City Music Hall, took a dance class at Broadway Dance Center and had lots of fun seeing the sights and hol-iday decorations in the Big Apple. We visited Rockefeller Center, ate dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, took in the breathtaking view from the Empire State Building, and win-dow shopped on 5th Avenue on our way to taking a self-guided tour of The Plaza Hotel. Our trip was filled with lots of walking, laughter and fun.
We got all glammed up for King William High School's Hollywood-themed Homecoming Parade this year. So much fun waving to our adoring fans, looking fabulous, and tossing out loads of candy! We hope we brought a little joy and a lot of pink to the event and we love supporting our community!
