Now that we are working on Dawn's School of Dance's 34th Season, I look back and thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon me in my lifetime. The gift of dance is certainly one of those blessings. Not only have I experienced the joy of dancing myself, but I have also had the privilege and pleasure of sharing my love of dance with the children in my community, thanks to the undying support of my husband, family and friends.
Over the years so many of you in King William and the surrounding area have honored me by enrolling your children in my school. I thank you for all of the time you spend driving kids to class, altering costumes, doing makeup at rehearsals and watching shows. Our motto at Dawn's School of Dance is "Dance for the love of dance," and therefore our main goal is to provide a fun creative outlet as well as an appreciation for the art form of dance. My hope is that your children have and will continue to learn lessons self-confidence, grace, teamwork, problem-solving and self-discipline that dancing can provide.

My teachers and I look forward to sharing our love of dance with your children this year. Thank you for your support and keep dancing!

More about Dawn

Dawn is also very close with her fun and fabulous team of teachers, most of who are graduates of Dawn's School of Dance themselves. Handpicked by Dawn for their talent and passion for dance, each year their creativity makes for memorable performances that DSD is proud to share  with our community as well as our travel destinations.  Even when there's no performance involved, these gals just love to have fun and uplift others as well as each other. A group of DSD instructors and staff are pictured here on a recent trip to NYC!
Dawn began dancing at the age of four. In high school, she danced with the Waukegan High School Orchesis Group. At Northern Illinois University she performed with the NIU Company Dancers and the NIU Repertoire Company. She then moved to Virginia, where she taught at the Dance Studio in West Point, under Karen Engel. She has performed with the Chamber Ballet in Williamsburg. Since 1981 Dawn has been teaching dance in King William County, and Dawn's School of Dance was incorporated in 1989. Dawn and her husband Lin are blessed with three wonderful sons, Joey, Danny and Scott; three beautiful daughters-in-law, Kasey, Mary and Katie; four adorable grandchildren, Tolie, Tate, Bella and Barrett; and a large, amazingly supportive group of extended family and friends!
